Archer & Greiner Adds Prominent Governmental Affairs Attorney
Archer & Greiner, P.C. is pleased to announce the addition of Timothy J. Cunningham as a partner in the Public Finance and Governmental Affairs practice groups. Cunningham is the former Director of Division of Local Government Services & Chairman of the Local Finance Board of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
“Tim’s extensive understanding of governmental affairs, particularly at the county, municipal and local authority levels, coupled with his background in finance and deep relationships will greatly contribute to our growing presence throughout the state of New Jersey and adds tremendous value to Archer,” said Christopher Gibson, President of Archer & Greiner. “Most importantly, his years of experience in public policy and community relations will enhance the service we can provide to our clients in the areas of bond financing, redevelopment, land use and any other area closely tied to local issues.”
Cunningham has been in the government affairs sector for over 15 years. From 2014 until now, Cunningham was responsible for a team of 40 professionals working with local governments and similar entities to ensure integrity and solvency; he oversaw a budget of four million dollars, and as Chairman of the State board was responsible for oversight and approval of municipal and authority debt issuance and adjudication of ethnic complaints. He also played a key leadership role in the State’s enhanced oversight of the City of Atlantic City and was frequently speaking publicly on matters related to administration of local government and related statutes.

Cunningham has previously held the positions of Assistant Commissioner – Director of Sandy Recovery Division in the Department of Community Affairs; Senior Policy Liaison with the Office of the Governor of New Jersey; Policy Advisor to Governor’s Policy Office; and Deputy Administrator for Passaic County.
